Linux Certified Professionals Are Worth More On the Job Market
Have you ever wondered about how your network works at the office, or how places like Google use spiders and robots to track website, back links and more? Well, Linux is the answer to those questions. Linux is a Unix-like system that operates computers, networks Internet sites and more.
There are many different levels of Linux administrators, from being completely uncertified to being certified on a myriad of different levels of Linux. Linux certified professionals tend to make more money than those who are uncertified and have typically received some formal training where uncertified Linux administrators have not.
Linux Certified professionals can typically qualify for any type of Linux administrator position. Often a Linux + certified professional will qualify for a position that he or she is not qualified for simply because the HR department of the company hiring the Linux administrator does not realize that there are 7 different levels of certifications. Typically it is the RHCE Linux certification that is the most appreciated by IT companies because they know that this is the one exam that thoroughly tests students on all aspects of Linux, not just general knowledge.
Becoming Linux Certified is a process. While current Linux professionals without certification may be able to pass a Linux exam, most IT professionals will recommend that they attend at least basic Linux certification training courses because often a person already working in the Linux field for the same company for an extended period of time becomes over focused on the issues that they have with their particular system and may not be aware of other new problems with new networks. Some basic training will help in that regard and ensure that you are ready to take the certification exam.
To become Linux certified you will also have to pay for the exam that you take. As mentioned above the RHCE is the most commonly recognized as being the best exam to take so save yourself some money and do not pay $4,000 for the RHCSS, instead take the much less expensive RHCE and get the certification that you need that will garner you the most money in the job market but not cost you the most out of pocket.
