Kauai Real Estate – A Slice Of Paradise

Purchasing Kauai real estate offers you the opportunity to live in your own piece of heaven that offers everything you could wish for in natural beauty. If you are looking for the thrill and excitement that a large city can offer then go elsewhere, because real estate on Kauai offers you tranquility and the chance to get away from big cities, and just relax and appreciate life. Here are six reasons why:

The Alakai Wilderness Preserve: Also called the Alaka’i swamp after the bogs found here. The area is filled with beautifully lined trails that are perfect for hikes at any time, and since this area sits on a plateau near Mount Wai’ale’ale, it’s one of the wettest spots on the planet. For this reason, it’s usually covered in fog, creating a great way to enjoy a mysterious, almost surreal, hike in the preserve.

Hanalei Bay: This is a fabulous bay with about three miles of beautiful beach. Situated on Kauai’s North Shore, Hanalei is a small town that sits about half way along the bay taking its name (or is it the other way round?), and is very friendly and a great place to live. The real estate here is either in the town or on the bay, and offers some great scenery. If you surf or dive, the bay is crystal clear and flat in summer, but offers high surf in winter. A great place to live or even for a vacation home.

Ke’e Beach: One of the island’s most beautiful beaches, Ke’e Beach is only reached by a foot path into the Na Pali coastline. You’ll find a beautiful, shallow beach here where there is little current and very few waves. For those with families, this is a wonderful place to spend the day with the kids, swimming and snorkeling in the clear blue water. There are some absolutely beautiful patches of land around the area, and you can easily find a Realtor to help you purchase property near this beautiful beach.

Limahuli Garden and Preserve: Who doesn’t love a beautiful, breathtaking hike through one of the most beautiful natural gardens in the United States? This preserve won both “The Best Natural Botanical Garden” in the United States and the top award from the HTA (Hawaii Tourism Authority). There is so much natural beauty here and it is easy to find a beautiful piece of Kauai real estate close by to enjoy it even more.

Wailua River State Park: For anyone into kayaking or canoeing, who loves hiking and massive, 150-foot waterfalls, this is the park for you. Wailua River is Hawaii’s only navigable rive and home to Opaeka’a Falls, which can be seen for miles. There are several residential areas close by from which to enjoy all this state park offers throughout the year.

Waimea Canyon State Park: While it is not near as deep as the Grand Canyon, it is more stunning as it’s filled with beautiful, lush trees, flowers, rare bird species only found in Kauai, and other wonderful sights. One thing that the Grand Canyon doesn’t have is a massive volcano in the middle, which is what helped to create the Waimea Canyon in the first place.

And that’s it. Six fabulous reasons to own Kauai real estate. They don’t have casinos and they don’t offer golf courses or tourist attractions other than those that Mother Nature created herself. There are many more lovely homes in Kauai you might prefer, but these are some of the best if you enjoy sheer natural beauty.
